We had a wonderful first week and enjoyed welcoming our students from schools across Acton and Boxborough. While initially there were some mixed emotions, it didn't take long for our students from Conant, McT, Merriam, Douglas, Gates, and Blanchard to begin to connect. It will take some time, but we'll continue to create intentional opportunities for students to make connections. Personally, I enjoyed meeting so many new students who shared stories of their summers, former schools, and themselves. Overall, we had a smooth opening week and our students transitioned to their new community well.
We had our first all-school community meeting on Wednesday. During this, Assistant Principal Mrs. Patrick and I outlined our expectations for our community meetings and for the entire school. We discussed how at Boardwalk Upper Elementary, we are working to build community together! Enjoy a few pictures below.
